Foundation Announces Significant Sports Memorabilia Collection Donation

Stephen and his father, Steve, shared a passion for sports and their bond grew through collecting sports memorabilia over the years.  They attended many sporting events and sport memorabilia shows together acquiring unique jerseys, helmets, balls and autographs.  As a young boy, Stephen was particularly adept at positioning himself at sporting events to capture a “Walter Payton” or an “Arnold Palmer” autograph.

As many of you know, the sports memorabilia collection grew to become quite extensive.  Steve has now decided to sell substantially all of the collection (keeping a few special pieces for the grandkids) and to donate 100% of the proceeds to the Foundation.  In fact, the initial sale of memorabilia just occurred at an estate sale at the family’s home in Lake Forest, IL.  We are grateful to so many (especially all those loyal Bears, Bulls and White Sox fans) who purchased footballs, helmets, basketball shoes, game programs, baseball collections from Dick Butkus, Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, Ernie Banks, Luis Aparicio, Carlton Fisk, Roger Staubach, Drew Brees, Deion Sanders and more for a total over $15,000!  Thank you for helping us to a successful kickoff!!!!!!!

 We will be continuing the sale of our sports memorabilia through our soon-to-be-announced Foundation auction site. Stay tuned for further details.
